Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Improver/ Apprentice to join our team. As an Electrical Improver/ Apprentice, you will work under the supervision of a lead electrician to carry out electrical maintenance inspections and tasks, while developing your skills and knowledge to become a fully qualified electrician. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work towards a rewarding career in the electrical industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead electrician in carrying out electrical maintenance inspections in accordance with SFG20 guidelines

  • Work safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety requirements and regulations

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop lead electrician qualities and capabilities

  • Apply relevant site experience to ensure effective completion of tasks

  • Collaborate with the lead electrician to identify and resolve electrical issues

  • Develop a working knowledge of basic electrical systems, in accordance with the National Working Rules for the Electrical Contracting Industry, the current IEE Regulations for Electrical Installations, and the Construction Industry Safety Regulations

Requirements:

  • City and Guilds 2368 Electrical Installation Level 2 or currently training towards this qualification

  • NVQ Electrical Installation Level 2 or currently training towards this qualification

  • ECS Health and Safety Test or currently training towards this certification

  • Previous experience as a registered apprentice or equivalent method of training in electrical installation work

  • Practical training in electrical installation work

  • NVQ Level 2 in electrical installation work (or approved equivalent) or currently training towards this qualification

  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of basic electrical systems, under the supervision of a fully skilled operative

Important Note:

As an Electrical Improver/ Apprentice, you will not be deemed competent to carry out final connections, isolation of supplies, or any form of inspection or testing without proper supervision and certification.
